You will see a CAT
You will see a WHO
Make your way to DCT
If it’s the last thing you DO
A CAT? A WHO? Well that could only mean one thing, Dr. Seuss mania has arrived at The Dallas Children’s Theater (DCT)! DCT opened its 33rd season with SEUSSICAL.
After an exhausting day of work, I almost reneged on my promise to my daughter to spend our night at the Theater. She was also tired, but somehow always seems be in “go” mode.
I’m so glad I kept my word! It was the best opening night at DCT and we’ve seen a few!
SEUSSICAL takes the audience on an adventure with TEN of Dr. Seuss’s best known characters. Of course, you’ll see the oh so famous, Cat in the Hat and Horton the Elephant.
I have to be honest; I didn’t recognize all of the characters as I haven’t read all of the stories (imagine that), so I was delighted to get acquainted with Dr. Seuss’ friends. Even if you haven’t read the books, you somehow get connected to all of the characters in a fun, fantastical way and realize they are all OUR friends!
SEUSSICAL reminds us that “A Person’s a Person No Matter How Small” and to never give up on your friends at all. See what I tried to do there?
From the joyous, opening song, colorful set design, and Broadway worthy performance, SEUSSICAL stole my attention and attempted to give it back at the end of the show, but it has lingered on in conversations with friends and their children.
This weekend, if you are looking for a fun, family- friendly activity, take a chance on SEUSSICAL! The young at heart (of all ages) will definitely be entertained and their hearts delighted!
SEUSSICAL runs until October 23, 2016, and is recommended for ages 5 and up.
